As a Golden Ear, you’ll be able to take advantage of exclusive offers that many elite manufacturers have already agreed to make to members. The value of just one offer is worth more in savings than the cost of a GEC membership! While we anticipate the types of GEC special offers will continue to grow, they already include:
Exclusive Retail Deals:
Want something “extra” with your regular retail purchases through authorized dealers? Several of the Club’s Participating Manufacturers will offer attractive factory rebates to members, extended warranties, “extra goodies” with retail purchases (e.g. accessories, polo shirts, etc.), or offer incentives for multiple component purchases.
B Stock and Close-Out Units:
Many manufacturers will be offering these units at special prices either direct or through dealers (It depends on the manufacturer). If you don’t mind units that have been open box, demo, factory reconditioned, or have a minor cosmetic blemish, you can save a bundle, because the manufacturer cannot sell these units as new. With new model changes, several manufacturers have a bunch of the previous model in inventory, and will offer these new “close out” units at great prices to Golden Ears, too.
Special Edition Units
One of the most exciting benefits of Golden Ear membership is access to Special Edition Units. These are components and speakers that have special cosmetics, some upgraded parts, and/or are fully-tricked-out “hot rod” versions of standard products. These are sure to be highly prized among GEC members.
Commentary Seed Units
A limited number of new units will be available to members at special prices in exchange for writing online reviews or posting commentary on the AVguide.com website.

GEC is designed to give members compelling reasons to visit their local dealers,
listen to great audio equipment, and—with a little help from GEC incentives and
offers—to acquire components that will bring years of listening enjoyment.
In our opinion, good dealers can make all the difference between satisfying audio
acquisitions versus purchases that, well, don’t quite work out. For this reason,
many GEC offers will, by design, involve your local dealer so that you’ll have an
experienced resource to back you up through each step in the process. We
wouldn’t have it any other way, would you?
