Please Help:
I have an old std TV on my new kitchen counter with cable connection.
I want to replace it with a new LCD (approx 19-20 " because of height restriction of 16").
There is absolutely NO ROOM for a cable box in the area so believe I need to either:
1. Just reconnect a new TV to the cable. In this case, all new TV's are 16:9 format so I can watch shows with a tiny screen and large black side stripes, or stretch it to make everything fat, or use one of the "zoom" settings which loses (for example) the CNN/ESPN bottom scroll bar. All these seem unacceptable.
2. Have a cable box elsewhere and somehow transmit to the new TV with some magical transmitter/receiver and channel changing capability.
Does such a beast as 2. exist? Is there some other way? It looks like new TV's with this new Tru2way cablecard will do the trick if the TV's are ever available and my cable provider supports it.
Suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks
