I just heard a pair of (new?) Watt Puppies for the first time in years and with the Audio Research VS 115 tube amp and Refence 3 pre-amp, they really sounded good. I think they were fed by the new Classe CD transport. I was quite (pleasanly) surprised and think they may be a candidate for my new theater/listening room.
Audio Research often demonstrates at shows with Wilson speakers, and they always produce a great sound. I've heard a number of Wilson/Audio Research systems, and the two brands seem to work very well with each other. (The Sophia II with the Reference 110 is a particularly great combination.)
Hi Robert
I have lived with two different speakers of the Usher models over the last years, first the CP 8571 and then the BE 10. Both great speakers, but a person in Oslo Norway are now offering me his Wilson Sasha to buy. I have to give him the BE 10 and some cash to get the "Sasha`s".
As i understand you have listen to all of the three speakers and spesially the Wilson speaker. Would this "investment" be a good step up for mee. I have the Scarlatti system and the Norwegian Dynamic Presicion A 1 EBW x 2( just been bought of Elektrocompaniet) as power amps.
These are the first Wilson speakers that I find actually look good (from what I've seen so far). I've always been intrigued by Wilson speakers but their styling hasn't been to my liking. If the price is right, I'm really considering giving the Sasha a serious demo.
See my review of the Sasha in the August issue of The Absolute Sound. The issue mails on June 28.
Their styling is not that different from the WATT/Puppy in an objective sense, but the Sasha exudes a very different "vibe" visually. The differences are subtle, mostly slight bevels to edges that were once 90 degrees. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at (and listen to). The review samples were in a color called "Macademia Nut."
Like the Von Schweikert VR-5 Anniversary?
Perhaps Dave Wilson attended another concert, and came to the realization that his Watt Puppies sound nothing like real music. :) :)

More info from Wilson at the Sasha website, read elsewhere it will debut cheaper than the present WP8.
