Yes, there are after-market power supplies available that can be used with audio devices.
The trick is finding the right one.
Using an over or under spec'd power supply can damage a component. If you do damage a piece of gear it will most likely NOT be repaired under warranty. And yes, most manufacturers will be able to tell if the power supply deep-sixed your gear.
If you know what you are doing and find the right supply you can see performance improvements especially if you go from a digital switching supply to a regulated analog one.
But you'd best know what you are doing or don't try this at home...
