Which phono preamp to buy?

I have read a number of artcles and reviews in TAS (and other mags) regarding analog (and phono stages). I am "going vinyl" once again(after a 25+ year absence). I will probably purchase the Rega P3-24 turntable, with the RB301 tonearm, and the Rega Exact 2 cartridge. My question is what phono preamp do I purchase? With so many choices (and price points) its confusing. I can't audition them all. I'm thinking of the following (not in any particular order): PS Audio GCPH, AcousTech PH-1, Graham Slee Era Gold Mk V, Simaudio Moon LP3 or LP5.3, Phenomena II, Ph3D, or the Bellari Rolls VP129. That's EIGHT choices (and, of course, there are many others at about the same cost). Do I purchase one of these or do I stick with the Rega Phono Stage Preamp. I'm "confused." Which of these is "better?" Which of these is a better "match"...or doesn't a match matter? Obviously, if a less expensive model is as good as a more expensive model, I'd like to save the money...but, I don't want the phono preamp not to be good enough for the rest of the system. Any suggestions? Input and help is appreciated! Thanks.

First read this thread:

Then, consider buying a basic preamp and seeing what you like and don't like about the sound.

Finally, what is the rest of the system?

What preamp are you using now?

Take a look at AudiogoN's for sale listings; there was a good deal on a Hovland HP-100 with Phono; a very good piece of equipment!
