Where can I audition Grado headphones

irobot10 -- Thu, 12/04/2008 - 20:49

I have saved enough to invest in a pair of good headphones. I am considering Grado SR80, SR-325 and RS-2. Where can I audition these phones physically before buying one? I live in a Chicago suburb. Unfortunately (and surprisingly) Grado doesnt have any dealer info on their website.
Also, if I am spending in tune of $500 on a pair of RS-2, is it also required to buy a headphone amp to be able to enjoy the headphone's true capability?

irobot -- you are welcome to post anywhere on the site, but you may get better responses in the headphones forum on AVGuide.com:

Yeah, well, we've tried to come up with something to cover desktop audio, headphones, earphones, MP3 players and iPods.  Nothing obvious hit us. CyberListener is what we've been using in Playback magazine, so we stuck with that.
