I've got a strange problem with the base of my very seldom used, 8 year old Well Tempered Classic turntable. As you may know, the base is made-up of 3 layers of fibre board, sandwiched together with a thin damping material. I noticed that the two top layers have slid out of alignment and now overhang the bottom right-hand corner layer by 1/4 inch. I've tried to align the layers, by applying brute force, but nothing seams to budge. My attempts to contact Well Tempered have resulted in no response. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can correct this?
Thanks!
Jon
Mine's the same but was like that from new.
Most likely the layers are not cut perfectly square or were assembled by someone with less than perfect eyesight ?
Other WTT users tell me it's fairly normal and that to get all the layers aligned requires disassembly and rebuilding with new damping pads.
A major PIA !
