VPI HRX w/RIM Drive

I was wondering if anyone had any experience setting up the HRX with the new 12.7 arm, Ruby 3H cartridge and RIM drive. I pick this up from a private party with no dealer in town.

We don't have any experience with this turntable. VPI's return to rim-drive is a curious development, and one that we should investigate.

I'm thinking to get one for my SSM. HP has been hinitng that it is a worthy upgrade I think.

I have the rim drive on a TNT 6 and think it is a significant improvement over the belt drive. Pitch stability is enhanced and particularly with piano and violin solos I am very impressed.

I have the table set up but still have some static issues. VPI had me run a ground wire from the platter bearing and it help some but the static still builds up after about 2 LPs. Also, the Ruby 3H's magnets don't like the outer ring and pull to the ring. I have sent the ring back to VPI and they are trying to find one the Ruby's magnets will not find any ferrous metals in to pull.
