volume control

How about a article in TAS about comparing and contrasting different volume controls.  Rotary pots, digital, resistor ladders, gain cells, etc..  It would be interesting to learn about the differences and pro and cons of the applications.  Maybe even compare some products that use the different types like AYRE, Spectral, Placette, etc.
