Hi everyone! New to this forum but have been an audiophile for the past 10 years. Just started reading TAS a couple of years ago at my local bookseller and finally found a reason to post here for some advice.
Read the review of this beast of an integrated amp from Vincent Audio and demoed one at home - man is this a silky smooth yet robust sounding amp that easily drove my speakers. The only small problem with it is, just as the reviewer said, the volume knob is way too sensitive. I can control it fine manually but with the remote it is either too soft or WAY too loud with no in between. Now, let me be clear that I don't consider this a huge problem myself - what audiophile doesn't like his music louder! For the wife, though, this is pretty much a deal breaker, especially since it's in the living room as I don't have a separate audio setup.
Have any of you found a way around this problem with this amp, other similar vincent amps, or other amps that have a similar issue? My dealer suggested trying an after-market remote but I'm hesitant to buy the amp or go buy a remote just for testing this out. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
