I have just visited an authorized focal dealer in my area. and the dealer happens to have a pair of focal 1027be in an opened box. I know that this model was replaced by the newer one - focal 1028be. 1027be used to be sold at $US7,500.
It will come with full factory warranty.
- The dealer gave me the price. yet negotiation is still open.
- I used to see the dealer price list (Factory selling price to dealer ) of B&W speakers. local dealer profit is around 50% of its retailed price.
- Do you believe the replaced model should sell for "Half the price" of the orignal? $US7,500 / 2 = $US3250.?
Thank you a lot.
Why would a retailer sell you speakers for their cost?
Try being realistic...

Dear Stone, I believe dealer would have to get rid of the new old stock speaker. Or definitely lose their sunk-cost.
And I assume that getting rid of it is dealer's priority rather than making profit.
Some profit from selling is ok. Being realistic might not be vocaburary my local dealer knows (not in USA)..
If it were the recent model, there'd be no chance there will sell for their cost.
:)
Wow, so the dealer should work for free then?
dealers are less than honest profits should be minimum if anything at all unless there can prove to be truthfull to the extent of of giving info on competetors stock if better suited,I have never come across a honest dealer in 40 years of buying high end gear.
