Hello,
I'm a new reader of this website. I hope you can help me with a problem I'm having with a Denon DP-40F turntable.I have not used it for some time, but it does not have any power to it. No "on" light, no sound, nothing! I took it to a local shop and they said that Denon does not have any parts available for it. Does anybody know where or if this is repairable? Thanks for your help.

I have no experience with your table, but logic would point towards an electrical problem, since you have no 'on' light. I would check the power cabling, and protection fuses first. These wouldn't need any Denon parts. If the fuses are blown, it may or may not mean you have an issue with the motor. In the latter case, this will get more complicated and probably not worth pursuing a repair.

I agree with Zeb. When there is no power lights the first thing to check are the AC fuses.

If the fuses are good you should be able to trouble-shoot your way backwards through the power supply chain to see where the power stops.

Many years ago my friend and ace repairman Micha Shatner said to me "95% of all electrical failures needing repair are actually mechanical in nature."  Parts fail far less than the connections between the parts fails.
