Steve,
Ready your review about the Minuets. I have had Acoustic Research TSW-210s for about 20 years, and am thinking of upgrading. i still have a small listing room, and I'm wondering whether the Minuets would truly be an upgrade, considering the AR-210s have 8" woofers. I'm in the Washington D.C. area and have not found a store here that sells the Minuets. FYI, I run the 210s through an NAD 555BEE intergrated amp.
Well I am not sure of your listening environment, But I can tell you that my room which I have FOCAL 806V's is approx. 14'x10'... I thoroughly enjoy them and they fit into the price range in which you are looking...
They, with the right reciever driving them, SOUND LIKE TOWERS.... I truly enjoy their clarity and separation, I also invested in the available stands for them.. But it sounds like u will actually be using them on bookshelves... I am currently driving them with a DENON AVR4310, and the sub for this system is a DEFTECH supercube3...
I hope this helps with your decision, the pair runs around 899.99..
The Silverline Minuet Supremes would be fine for a bookshelf. See my review here.
