I currently looking for a speaker to pair with my NAD M3 Integrated Amp. I was considering the Harbeth 7es3 but came across a Totem "The One" speakers for sale. I do not have the ability to listen to the Totems. Any observation or experience from thos that have heard both speakers would be appreciated.
I had both at one time, Totem Model 1 and the C7es2.
I preferred the C7 for its more fuller sound. The totem was a bit more sibilant.
The Model 1 was great imaging & soundstaging. It also needs more power.
Both great speakers, its a matter of preference.
I used to have my NAD M3 hooked up to ProAc Studio 140 tower speakers and the combination was great (even better with high quality cables)! There are a couple pairs of used Studio 140s for sale on Canuck Audio Mart now for $2,500 CDN. If you are into top of the line monitors, it may be worth checking out ProAc Response 2s - they are well rated and on TAS editor's choice 2010 list (I think they retail at a similar price point as the Studio 140s). The ProAcs are imaging/soundstage champs and very easy to listen to - the only big complaint (for some) is a slightly elevated upper mid-range presence, which you may love or hate, depending on your taste. Definitely worth a listen if you have the chance.
