It's bad, really bad. Bad script, bad direction, bad special effects. However, Keanu Reeves is the perfect actor to play the alien Klaatu. He has a wooden face that never changes expression. Don't bother with this one, see or rent the original.

The reviews were so uniformly discouraging that I couldn't bring myself to go, and I rather like Keanu Reeves (at least when he's doing his Clint Eastwood imitation, as he clearly was in the much-underrated, genuinely amusing "Constantine").
