My wife and I are building a new house and I have been given the go ahead for the Home Entertainment room. The room is 18'x20' with 9' high walls. We are a family of 5 and my wife is a music teacher. The system will be used for approximately 50% movies and 50% music. Our music preferences are jazz, classical, and contemporary christian. I would like to stay under $3000 for the speakers and I have basically narrowed the A/V Receiver down to the Yamaha RX-V3800, Denon AVR-3808, or the Onkyo TX-SR875. I would like a 5.1 speaker system and if applicable will probably drive the mains with two channels. We live in south central Nebraska so good audio stores are no where to be found (closest in Omaha [4 hours away]). So I really don't have the luxury of listening to the speakers or comparing them. I am asking for any ones input as to the pros and cons of these systems:
1) Aperion Initmus 633 Concert system
2) Mirage OMD-15 system
3) Axiom Epic 60.500
4) Paradigm Monitor 9 system
5) PSB Image Perfomance system
Thanks

I think the Mirage's are very interesting, but enough different that you may not take the risk.
If you get receiver with Audyssey room correction, as you will with some of your choices, I can say that the Paradigm's are a good choice. You may also wish to note that the Denon has a slightly more advanced version of the Audyssey system. Room correction is a game changer, in my view.
I just purchased the OMD15 system with a Definitive Technologies Supercube Reference Sub( I originally had the Supercube II, found the Reference on Audiogon and couldn't pass it up). I have a Harman Kardon AVR 745 receiver, Samsung DLP 56" and Samsung BluRay(soon to be replaced with the new OPPO BluRay) MIT cables.
The system is now 6 weeks old and I can't say enough about the OMD speakers, I love the sound!!
I considered all of the speakers you mentioned and went with the Mirage OMD's and I'm very happy with the system.
Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions.
