Has anyone purchased or researched surround headphones. I've looked at the Sony MDR-DS8000 (which are now discontinued),the Pioneer SE-DIR800C (USA), and the Pioneer SE-DIR2000C. Since the Sony's are discontinued they are very difficult to locate. That leaves me with the Pioneer units. I like the features of the 2000C (TOSLINK in and out jacks, and 50 mm drivers) but these are only available in Japan and I would only be able to get warranty work by sending them back to the importer (who then sends them back to Pionner Japan - this could take months), never mind that the instruction manual is in Japaneese, or that I will need an adapter to run on the US electrical system. For these reasons I'm a bit apprehensive of this. That leaves me with the 800C that has been out in the US for a while now. Anyone have any experience with either of these units? Any suggestions? Anyone see CES 2006 and know what's comming down the pipeline? Thanks.

I heard that a new processor was introduced at CES, works with any headphone I believe and gives stunning results.
I notice that AKG has a surround offering, called the Hearo 999. Haven't heard it.
