Hey everyone,
I was considering a number of multi-channel amps for my living room home theater set up - the Sunfire TGA-7400 was one of them. I am looking for a single box amp that will run cool in a fairly confined space.
I read the review of the Sunfire amp in the latest Perfect Vision.
In another forum, I have seen unsubstantiated comments questioning the ability of these amps to deliver high power rapidly during transients. I emailed Sunfire about this but received no response.
I have also read review of earlier generation Sunfire Amps that use their Tracking Down Converter and suggest that the noise floor is quite high - although the specs seem to directly contradict this.
Does anyone have any experiences or comments on this? Obviously listening is the ultimate test, but I will have very limited opportunity to conduct an A/B test so anything anyone can add would be appreciated.
Regards,
Ash
I have the Theatre Grand Signature 7, the precursor to the 7400, and am very pleased with it. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better value for the money.
I have made significant upgrades to my system recently and have kept this amp because what I am finding is that I will have to invest a substantially higher amount of money to gain any audible improvement.
Sweat, persistence, and endless attention to detail.
