I've set up a server with Squeezebox Duet and iTunes, and ripped a large percentage of my CD library into the PC that I'm using as an exclusive music server in Apple Lossless code. Have to admit that the sonics I'm getting is quite impressive. I'm wondering if anyone has set up Squeezebox and the Squeezecenter to use other music management software and tried to integrate it? Maybe something like Real, Amarok, Windows Media Player, or Foobar? Something like Foobar may be an advantage due to the numbers of file types it can support like FLAC files from someone like Music Giants. I'm not sure if a FLAC file will work with iTunes, but I may just be ignorant of the facts. Anyone done experimentation or have good experience with the Squeezebox and anything other than iTunes?
FLAC will NOT work with iTunes just as a Squeezebox system will not work without Squeezecenter running on a computer at all times while you accesss your home music library.
SqueezeCenter acesses a music library and doesn't care what other music player you use since it does not use that player but only its library files.
Check out Logitech's forums for novel and occasionally sucessful solutions to Squeezebox library issues.

Thanks for the response and the tip. One more neophyte question.... Let's say I download a hi-res file from someone like Music Giants (WMA); can I add that folder to iTunes and play it back through the Squaeezebox with its full bit content?
Hi MusicDawg,
Yes, you can include high-res files in the iTunes library.
Quick Player will play them, but Apple TV and iPod not.
