Hello from an aspiring hifi hobbyist,
I have been looking at the following combination and wanted to get your take on the compatibility of the amp and speakers.
Vincent Audio SV-236 MKII Hybrid Stereo Integrated Amplifier with PSB Synchrony One B speakers. The amp is rated at 2 x 150w (8 ohm) and 2 x 250w (4 ohm) while the speakers are 4 ohm with a recommended input power of 15 to 150 watts. Could this combination damage the speakers and/or amplifier? Any thoughts as well as possible speaker substitutes (at this price or lower, preferably!) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I'm using a Vincent sv236MK with the Synchrony One Tower.
It's a fantastic combination, dynamic with a rich full sound. Mids are to die for.
This is a very versatile association, which will equally play anything you'll through at it.
For a bit less you can also consider the PSB Imagine T.
No worries about damaging the speakers with the Vincent, the amp will clip first.
I would think that if the amp clipped that is what will/would damage the speakers. Just my .02, maybe I'm misunderstanding the statement.
Cheers,
Daniel
This sounds like a good combo and I think that would work great in any scenario. I don't think that you would ever really need to upgrade, that should have plenty of power and clarity. Satellite Internet
