We're working on the XBR2 for the February issue. Sony has so far declined to send us the A2000, despite repeated requests, preferring us to review the XBR2. They've said they might send an A2000 once we have finished the XBR2 review. If so, a review of the A2000 would probably appear mid-year.

[b] I had the chance to see a 70" XBR2 recently after ISF Calibration with a DVDO iScan VP30 on the input side.
4 input sources were connected to the iScan including a bluray player.

The inability to disable / bypass the onboard stuff is an issue with this display.
I have sent Sony enquiries about the ability to disable their "processing" but have yet to receive a response. The tech at the store who did the setup could not find a way in the menus to disable the onboard processing.
Having the display circuitry re-intorduce the very artifacts you are trying to use the outboard processor scaler to eliminate is disappointing.
This is a no buy issue for me.
I'm not buying one if I can not use a DVDO iScan VP 50 or Lumagen Radiance XD to condition the input to the display.
It has become patently obvious that the only input source material that will be 1080p will be BluRay or HD-DVD and almost all broadcast material will be 1080i or processed by the set top box etc.
The need for an outboard processor / scaler will only go away when 1080p or better source material is the norm.
