I have been searching the Internet and noticed that this item is hard to come by. Does anyone if it has been discontinued and if so what Sony is replacing it with?
Discontinued back in Dec 2007 about 3 weeks after I boufght my 55".
Shame had a better picture and deeper blacks than Sony's current
54" LCD to include the latest XBR's.
You just couldnt hang it on the wall and the 54" XBR LCD was about twice as much.
I still love mine and wander how much better the XBR version would ahve been.
I had no idea... I bought the 60" when it first came out in Oct/Nov 2007. A friend of mine told me he wanted to buy one the other day and couldn't find any. I told him it was current model since I just got mine 8 months ago. I had no idea Sony discontinued it as soon as it came out.
Oh well, I guess I he will have to look into Mitsu or Samsung DLP RPTV's...
Got my KDS60A3000 in January from Crutchfield. A few months later I was really surprised when they suddenly had no Sony rear projectors in their catalog. I guess there's a lot more money to be made selling LCD's. BTW, I love mine!
