I am interested in running a dedicated line from my breaker to my listening room. Does anyone know of wiring that is reasonably priced that would meet this requirement? I am planning on running two lines so I assume that a shielded cable will work the best. I also have a PS Audio P600 and Power Plant Premiere at the socket. Any help on breakers and wire would really be appreciated. R/ Bob
There are plenty of expensive options if you want to go that route. For instance, JPS make a cable for this and I'm sure most of the other cable companies do likewise. What I would suggest, is get the heaviest gauge "normal" copper electrical cable your electrician will be happy to use and run at least two to two good quality duplexes. One for digital and one for analog. Be prepared for them to take a couple of months to break in and sound there best.
Good luck!
Thanks Rossop:
I am aware of the expensive options. Since this run would need about 200 feet of wire the JPS at $26.00 a foot is more than I want to spend. I was wondering if there were some budget / medium priced wiring that are "sonic" no brainers. I have not found anything and will probably use a good quality 10 gage, solid core, copper wire and a hospital grade breaker. Thanks for the help. R/ Bob
See http://www.avguide.com/forums/worlds-best-ac-outletsmaestro-outlet for info on outlets. I have found they make a difference as well
Transparent Audio also have raw AC cables, just like the one they use to make Powerlink MM2 and Powerlink Reference.
Not sure about sonic getting from using a very long of that heavily shielded with heavy insulation cable. It may have too much
charactor on the music.
