second zone amplification

I have a new Rotel home theater system - pre amp/amp. The new preamp offers multiple zones. My new amp is only 5 channels. At this point I don't have an extra $1000 to purchase a new 6 channel amp for the other zones. Is there a way to use my old 6 channel Yamaha V730 recvr to power the extra zones?

Thx

Yes. Use your old receiver as an amp for your second zone.

Set up your new preamp so the second zone is a fixed-level output and you can use your older unit to adjust levels in the second room.
