Hi All,
I've been waiting since CES to see the new Samsung B9000 LCD with LED backlighting and local dimming as well as the LG LHX LCD with similar features. Writing to Samsung USA and LG USA hasn't yielded any useful info. LG claims their sets are in production and to check "in a few weeks." Both these sets seem poised to be a few of the best out there. Samsung has developed a great rep as of late, while LG seems to be trailing closely. Sony, of course, has some beautiful LCDs, but I generally feel that the Sony's just don't warrant the extra cost.
I'm mostly concerned about the wireless video interfaces that both sets will employ. I believe these are new 60 GHz wireless links and these sets would be among the first to use them. Does anyone have an informed opinion about being an early adopter? I just haven't heard much about this technology, and would be upset if it wasn't 100% reliable.
Thanks,
- Rob
