Rotel RCD-1072 & Rega Apollo - Opinions?

Has anyone experienced either player or formed opinions about them? I'll be moving my Rotel stereo receiver to a 2 channel listening setup to make room for a multichannel HT, but I don't have a CD player. The two sources highest on my list for price/performance are the Rega Apollo and the RCD-1072, but I'm not sure what to think about them. For disclaimer's sake, I haven't heard either yet and I know it's important to make a decision based on my own opinions, but I figured I'd ask if any of you have listened to either, both or had a chance to compare them side by side.

I'm very happy with the quality of the Rotel receiver and like the idea of a matched system, but I've read wonderful reviews of the Rega. Not only that, but it's a top loader and, like it or not, that's a selling point. So, I'd like to see if anyone's aware of any reason I should or shouldn't go for either of these. Thanks!
