Radio Shack mega cable $25 giant killer?

Hi, as per an AA recommendation, I just bought and installed the RS flat "mega cable" (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104178) and it seems to have bested my Synergistic Research (basic) alpha quad cable with better bass, clarity, slight air, resolution, etc.
Buying the fifty foot roll, I biwired (VAC avatar to Dunlavy SCIII's). These cables were poo-pooed by AA resident cable moderator who stated that their geometry and the plastic casing they're housed in does not support a good sounding cable, but my ears tell me otherwise.
Two questions for those knowledgeable. Would twisting the (flat) cables, sort of like an old fashioned telephone cable, ala a twisted pair improve the sound? And why do these cables sound so good right out of the box? I was surprized and expected them to sound much more bright and harsh than what I heard.
If anyone has a spare $25 or so they want to experiment with, I'd be curious about your opinions. Happy listening.

You result is plausible.  Despite the opinions of the self-appointed experts, there is no broad consenus about the benefits of many geometries and materials used in expensive cabling.  There doesn't seem to be much reliable information on the forums.  Trying things in your own system remains one of the best ways to gain useful information, inefficient as that sounds.
