power supply options

 I have a Nottingham 294 'table and arm.  It's said that the Wave Mechanic Nottingham power supply will improve the sound.  I would be ecstatic except that it costs $1600.00.  It shouldn't be hard to design and manufacture a good power supply for much less than that, but I'm an attorney so What do I know?    Does anyone make a good one that is reasonably priced?
