Power conditioners

I am looking for a power conditioner. I have read the review of the PS Audio Quintet in Playback and it appears to be a great piece of equipment. I know that you have positively reviewed some of the APC and Monster Power conditioners as well. I am looking to spend somewhere around $300-400. At this point I am not leaning either way with floor mounted or rack mounted conditioner. I just want something that will protect my gear and increase the performance of my system. Any thoughts on what might the best solution?

The PS Audio is an excellent choice—it won our Product of the Year Award in the January, 2009 issue of The Absolute Sound.
I reviewed the Monster HTS series of conditioners some years ago, and found them an outstanding value. I have not heard a Monster conditioner in the past five years, and don't know how their current products perform.

Thank you for the feedback. I've decided to go with the PS Audio. I will let you know what impact it has on my system. Merry Christmas!
