Parasound CDP-1000

Is anyone familiar with this nineties CD player? I bought one the other day off E-Bay to use as a transport with my Parasound DAC-1100. It was cheap and I thought it would be cool to have a matched pair, the faceplates are almost identical. Besides, the DAC-1100 has multiple inputs so I can still use my exsisting setup with no changes. I seem to remember these players being for sale back in the early nineties but I can't recall how well received they were. I contacted Parasound's service department and was informed that they could still fully service and/or repair it if necessary. I'm just wondering what to expect from it.
