Thius player did not get a very good review in the DVD Buyers Guide. Has anybody used one of theses players. The other forums on the net are rav ing about this player.

We're talking about two different Oppo players. The one that's getting all the attention now is the DV-970HD Universal player for $150. That player deserves all the accolades (see our preview evaluation in The Perfect Vision Issue 70, available for free download on www.AVGuide.com (page 28). We also have a full review planned for this player in The Absolute Sound.

My understanding is the 971 is a better DVD palyer than the 970. The 970 is getting raves because it is a universal player bt I understand the video is not as good with DVD.
