Mulling over various possibilities, I was considering the possibility of the Odyssey products with my Thiels. Since the Khartagos are rated stable down to 2 ohms, I thought they might be appropriate for the 4-ohm Thiels. Additionally, the question comes to mind of whether a "good" 100-watt amplifier is adequate for the relatively low-efficiency Thiels or whether more power is needed for the speakers to sound dynamic?
Does anyone have experience with the Odyssey Khartago monos with low-impedance, low-efficiency speakers? Your thoughts?
Thanks - Boomzilla
What is the sensitivity of the 1.5s? How big is your room? How loudly do you play music?
Thiel 1.5s are supposed to be 86dB (1W / 1M). The room is 25 x 15. Medium loudness - no head-banging, but occasionally 95-98 dB peaks for very short periods.
A good sense of humor makes it ALL sound better!
i'm about to purchase the magnapan 1.7 and have been cautioned to use a high current amp. any comments as to success of pairing with an odyessy product or maybe something else?
