Nottingham 294 'table and arm problem

jack d ii -- Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:41

I buy a lot of used records (old jazz mostly)which are sometimes slightly warped. They dont have to be more than slightly warped to hit the bottom side of the arm when played. What can I do to help this? The only record flattener I can remember costs $1500.!!! :?: Some of my alltime favorites played fine on my old Well Tempered. Many thanks,

You have the VTA set to low perhaps?

Hi Jack
there is a knob of rubber underneath the arm-tube of the nottingham arm. all what you have to do is to use a nail-file and shorten the rubber a bit. do not forget: use the stylus-protector before you start to file.

I put washers between the cartridge and the arm, then rebalanced the arm.  Works great.  Thanks, guys.
