new speakers with the same woofer as the Mini I?

It was the HK AV Show this past weekend. I only went for an hour. It was way too crowded...

But I spotted two new speakers that seem to have the same woofer as the one found on the Magico Mini I.

First one is the AdMonitor Preference by ATD and Capriccio Continuo.

The second one is made by a new company, apparently based in Hong Kong, called Volent.

The MAGICO'S woofer was made by ATD in Italy. ATD purchased by another company (I think Chinese), that sell this drivers to anyone. This is one of the reason why MAGICO developed a new woofer.

Too bad they went for a vented bass... they are probably losing the tight bass characteristic of the Mini.

Actually, the story is different as what people stated above.
Magico "got" some technique from ATD driver, and ATD then had not sell any driver to them any more.
Also, Magico's nano driver was developed with the help of morel company instead of "Magico" develop it alone.
I have never heard ATD company being purchased by a chinese company,but I have hear some of ATD drivers (maybe cheaper one) are OEM of china product.

I would not say volent's vented bass will be worse compared to magico's seal box. Maybe the intention is different,
but vented box get a little bit "lower", and ATD's titanium can react " very fast" as well.
This is one of the fastest drivers I have heard, ATD's titanium will not cheaper than nano tech in driver markets for sure.

The VL-2s bass response is fast and in my room gets down to 30hz. I also think it's ribbon tweeter is flatter and more extended than the Revelator. Stand height is important. The best listening position is with ear level 3~ 10cm above the tweeter center.

LCY tweeter should provide certain some flexibility of listening angle, but thanks for your experience~~ to me, i feel the "3D" is obvious regardless little changes of my sitting position.
Actually, there is a volent's product I love much~
the Volent VL 3.5---> the model with ceramic mid to mid-high driver.
I love it so much, as I have heard a demo pair in HK show room. So sweet, so netural, so much details and bass is amazing.
One of the best speaker I have heard for similar size.
I hope the final version will be available soon, so that you can hear what I mentioned about.
Anyway, I never own a Volent product, but VL 3.5 is what I am planning for "middle future".
