The new MacBook and MacBook Pro were announced yesterday. This is a minor but necessary upgrade: improved video performance (previously pretty bad) and the larger trackpad on all models can handle multi-touch gestures as with the iPhone. The MacBook is now aluminum (except for the base model) like the Pro series was (and still is). Processors are generally faster, but price points didn't go down.
Maybe there is nothing more to be done, but for Apple's biggest product line, I expected more.
No firewire on new enrty-level portables.
Dropping Firewire is a big deal to any music pro.
It means that you must use a MacPro for many pro music applications.

I was disappointed there wasn't anything significant in this product release that would potentially justify an upgrade.
Specifics:
-The new design doesn't differentiate the MacBook Pro from the MacBook by much other than screen size (and Firewire port that Steven mentioned previously)
-No increase in RAM capacity (4GB max)
-Glossy Screen Only
At this point, I'm glad to stick with my 21 month old MacBook Pro.
