Neglected country music

I have noticed that country music does not get discussed very much in this forum or others like it. I have always loved country music and enjoy it even more now that I have a system that does a great job of digging all the imformation out of those grooves. I am not really technical but enjoy listening to all types of music and really appreciate great musicians and well done recordings.
Merle Haggard has alot of fantastic albums both sonically and musically. A couple of  favorites are A friend in California and Kern river.
Keith Whitley sounds great on vinyl and his album don't close your eyes is a masterpiece to my ears.
Willie Nelson did an album a couple of years ago that is avaliable on vinyl called "You don't know me the songs of Cindy Walker" that is sonically fantastic, If you haven't had a chance to listen to it I would highly reccomend it.
Another artist that has some great sounding albums is the gentle giant Mr Don Williams. His deep hickory voice is really a pleasure to listen to on vinyl. I was lucky enough to see Don live on many occasions before he retied from touring and what you hear on the records is what you get at the shows, a great voice and talented musicians.
If anyone has any recomendations, I am always looking to expand the collection.
