I want to get a 50'' Flat Panel HD set. I will be using the set for my xbox 360 and HD movies. I want a set were the standard definition stations look good. Plasma? LCD? Sony? Pioneer? I'm open to all options.
If you play a lot of video games, I recommend an LCD flat panel over a plasma; video games often have static (unmoving) elements (e.g., score boxes), which could cause some image retention on a plasma. However, LCDs are not available in 50-inch sizes; they normally come in 46 or 47 inches or 52 inches. Brand-wise, I really like the Sony XBR4 and Sharp LCDs. I'm about to get a new JVC in for review, which, based on previous JVC LCDs and what I saw at CEDIA, could be very good as well.
