The Kindle power supply is a 5V USB-level supply, though the connector is not the USB connector. That means you can carry the Kindle AC adaptor and then get a tweener cable (Kindle to USB) for your other USB devices if you want to reduce the number of adapters you carry. I got my tweener from my Blackberry (which has the identical supply as the Kindle + the tweener cable).
