Can you hear the impatience in the title?
There are some great projectors out there at reasonable prices (eg: Epson Home Cinema 8350) - well priced, high performance...
and every 1000 to 2000 hours you have to replace the expensive an power inefficient lamp, which also requires a fan to keep it cool due to its inefficiency, resulting in not only expense but noise.
Now that LED replacement lights are mainstream for normal light fittings, why is it that in the projector world LED's are still limited to the post $10,000 domain?
What possible justification is there?
So when can we realistically expect the mainstream LED projectors so long promised?
(and yes I am aware of the pico projectors - these a home theatre do not make!)
