Cube -- Mon, 12/31/2007 - 06:12

I am very inerested in Lyngdorf SDAI 2175 and I must say it sounds very good!

Anybody tested it and others to compare? is there some better choice?

I want a very strong amp with dynamic sound with strong and fast bass, microdetails and all that.

I prefer integrated amp.

My budget is about 2300$

Happy New Year!!!!

You have to be patient: the traffic on this site is low, and the holidays are keeping most people busy.

I've not heard the Lyngdorf amp. The weight specification suggests that it has a small linear power supply. The lack of power output doubling into 4 ohms also suggests the power supply is small. This is not an issue if you are using 8-ohm speakers, but could present problems if you have 4-ohm speakers that are not efficient.

My understanding of switching amps is that those with switching power supplies (light weight) are seriously compromised. The RF noise generated by the power supply affects the audio circuitry. It is practically impossible to provide enough shielding to keep this noise contained.

I have some experience with the Lyngdorf. It is not ideal for (nor do I think they designed it for) very inefficient speakers. What speakers are you using?

But, gee, if it sounds good in your application, then that's the important thing.

Hello,

I reviewed the Lyngdorf Integrated on the EnjoytheMusic site.
