Loudspeaker Magnets

-- Sat, 10/10/2009 - 17:29

I found this piece below which stunned me - if true. The article states that loudspeaker magnets (a crucial part of the system) loses 90% of its magnetic field over time. Is it true ? Does anyone know about this ? I would appreciate your thoughts......

To my knowledge , they lose there there magnetic field over time from 1. heating the magnet past a certin point 2.  alnico magents lose they're magnetic strength from shock ( i dont think neo or ferrite have this issue ) , and last from a de-magnetizing field area of some sort. Neodymium i think last the longest by far , ferrite being second and last ceramic and alnico. It takes a long time though for any of these magents to lose theyre strength so i wouldnt worry. Like i said i could be wrong so someone correct me if im wrong , thanks.
