I picked up some London Bluebacks recently and was very, very pleased with their sound, including one of Wagner selections with Solti conducting, and highlights from Mozart's Cosi fan Tutti. I have several others, as well as the Speakers Corner reissues.
Any recommendations on great original bluebacks that aren't priced in the stratosphere?
Thanks,
Jim

Ever hear Mississippi John Hurt Singing "Gilbert and Sullivan!"?
It's on one of Pat Sky's LP's.
Sorry, that's what we refer to in the journalistic game as "a digression."
Any and I do mean ANY of the London D'Oyly Carte Gilbert and Sullivan boxes are well worth whatever you pay for them.
I sold off a lot of my RCA's and Mercury LPs but I kept all my G&S boxes....

Thanks for the tip on the G&S boxed sets.
I'll keep my eyes out for them.
I have several G&S albums on EMI as part of the HMV Concert Classics Series conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent, but not one London.
Thanks,
Jim
