I have not heard anything about Chinese manufacturing, but I would be greatly surprised. Neil Gader is working on a review right now for publication in the next issue, and he'll report on the unit's place of manufacture.
Tasreader-
I contacted Krell and they confirmed that indeed the S300i is wholly designed in Orange, CT and built to Krell's specifications in China. For my part I'm not surprised given the astounding value of this amp. On the one hand I hate to see jobs sent elsewhere, yet on the other I love to be able to recommend such a quality product at an attainable price. And by the way, if anyone has any doubts about Asian quality, one look at the execution of this amp should put those fears to rest. Remarkable.
What is your point?
The point is not whether OEM product in China for Krell is good or not.
The point is whether Krell lets people know there products are made in China. This is about a company's ethics and WTO regulations.
According to the regulations, they should make clear of "country of origin", not saying "designed in XXX" or "assembled in XXX" but saying "made in XXX".
Besides, have you heard where or by whom Krell's LAT speakers were made?
Agreed.
AFAIK Krell do not label the S300i with country of origin.
Like Cambridge Audio, all they say on the back is that it was manufactured in an ISO9001 facility.
Neil Gader's review of the Krell S-300i will appear in the June/July issue, which mails to subscribers on April 28. The issue is in layout now, and I can confirm that the review will be in that issue.
Every one knows but you. :)

Haven't you heard the same thing about its speaker, LAT?
I have no idea either but it is a wonderful amp at a great price!
I didn't know either until Google search threw up some links to discussion on AVS and Audiogon.
