Jim Thiel has passed away...just posted on Stereophile

Condolences go out to Jim's family and friends. I met him only once at a local audio shop when he was doing the rounds introducing the 3.7s. He was a classy guy and passionate about his work and his designs. I have owned his 2.4 speakers for the past 3 years and was looking forward to many more Thiel designs. Here's hoping that the company can continue to take Jim Thiel's speaker design philosophies forward and continue the trail blazing work of one of high end audio's true speaker design pioneers. He will be truly missed.
