Playback magazine has reviewed 9 of the best integrateds under $1500, and you can read the buyer's guide here starting on page 192 (or just click on the cover line about integrated amps):
Anyone interested in an integrated amplifier of about that price should check out the new $1625 Naim Nait 5i. Although the model number remains unchanged, this new version has slightly different circuitry. I gave the new model a Golden Ear Award in TAS Issue 182, and it gets a full review in TAS Issue 183.
I'll summarize my view of the Nait 5i with this quote from my Golden Ear Award: "If there's a better value in high-end electronics than the new Naim Nait 5i, I have yet to discover it."
Note that the product was temporarily called the Nait 5i-2, but is now just the 5i.
