I recently replaced a sunfire grand theater 2 with an integra dhc 9.9(kept sunfire amplifire). I have enjoyed the features and such but I keep hearing a 'pop' with the sound stopping. This is when I am watching or listening music. When playing music from an xbox 360 the sound had at least a second or two of stoppage at times. It seems to be when the volume is a bit higher. I have tried multiple devices for input and all are having the same problem with some being more noticable. I do not see switching between different sources when this is happening or changes of any sort but it keeps occuring with louder sounds. Anybody have an idea for this? I had some incidence with the sunfire pre-amp with this but only with the xbox 360 and it was usually associated with a game.

If your system is connected through HDMI and you are listening to music without your screen/TV on the AV receiver is "pinging" the tv to see if its there. To solve this switch your TV on and then off again. Hope this helps
I have not had this issue with my 9.9.
I own an Onkyo Pro PR-SC885, the almost twin of the 9.8, and have not heard any popping like you describe.

Important note for the original poster:
I took the liberty of describing the problems you had encountered to Integra's PR firm (Gordon Sell PR). Gordon Sell, hoping to give you the shortest path to a satisfactory resolution, replied back:
"This person should call Integra at 800-225-1946, ask for customer support, and explain the problem to the tech. There are solutions."
I'd suggest you try this approach (since it's a toll-free call), and then--if you have time--give us a follow-up post to let us know how things turned out.

I called that number and was told to reset the intetra system and start over (no other alternatives were given). I have also called the company I bought it from and was told to turn down by decibels because it could be my amp not being able to handle the information (I gave the benefit of the doubt but this seemed a bit far fetched, especially considering I did not have this before). Also I was told by the person I purchased it from that he has never heard of a processor being the reason for 'cut out'. Either way I have recalibrated my system and still have the cut out that I had before. I left a message for the company I bought ti from who seems intent on not returning it and am waiting for a call back.
Thank for the help though,
DP
I kept messing around with the system and the cut out appears to be gone. I have no idea why it was there. I can only suspect that it was a bad connection somewhere. No idea why I had this cut out otherwise. So for what it is worth I think it sounds great.
Maybe a bad cable that only cuts out when in a certain angle.
