Indiana Jones

Thoughts on the new one, without revealing key details? I guess I'm a bit worried that I'll be disappointed, so is does it live up, roughly, to the earlier films?

I saw the movie on the opening day and was less than thrilled. Not that I consider myself a purist but I felt the movie deviated too far from the originals. While the movies have always had a supernatural slant, I found the latest movie was 'over the top' and too many situations that were just not believable. While disappointed I don't regret seeing and would encourage folks to go see it if they are Indy fans.

I saw the movie yesterday and was mildly disappointed. It was as if I'd seen it all before. On the other hand, my wife really enjoyed the thrill ride.

There's no doubt that Spielberg knows how to do an action film and that alone may be worth the price of admission.

I'd wait for the Blu-Ray for a rainy weekend.

I saw the movie this week and have to admit that it rates in my worst five films ever. I found nothing about the movie believeable or interesting. I thought the acting was terrible, the sets looked really fake and the story totally laughable. It was by far the worst of the 4 films.

I have to agree with Jim about seeing it all before, and recently too, not only in the 3 earlier Indy films but the two recent National Treasure movies. You've got to look at this 4th installment of the franchise and ask yourself "Why, after 19 years, was this made?" Did we really need this to keep this franchise alive to complete a story cycle? I don't think so.

Quote:"Why, after 19 years, was this made?"

In a word, money.

As long as fans remain willing (and eager) to flock to theaters to watch insipid junk, Hollywood will continue to produce it. Sad, but true.
