i went there and in one of their forums mentioned RHs analogy comparison of image stabilizing binocs to jitter and it seems hell broke loose.

Hydrogen is focused on "audio technology" by design. I believe Robert's analogy was intended to communicate the effect of jitter to a non-technical readership; he was not trying explain its' mechanism(s). That is what analogies are for, though some of the more cognitively rigid participants at Hydrogen seem to have missed that. That said, if all you want is a place to discuss audio technology, I can see that RH's comment seemed out of place.

I have also noticed that different forums have different cultures. Some of those cultures are set up to reject participants who do not share the (often implicit) rules of the inner circle. That makes sense if you want to be very focused (or elitist).

Hydrogenaudio is frequented mainly by DBT flat earth types. There's a time and place for everything, but these guys just don't get it. Maybe they ought to come up for some oxygen :-)
