 Hello everyone,
I am planning to make a hometheatre in basement. I already bought the Mythos ST and 10  as a centre channel. I am confused to make a selection  about receivers. pioneer sc27,25 or denon 4310 ,4808. all available on ebay. also one 5803 . Any suugestion is welcome.
Can I play these 7.1 receivers with 5 speakers. I hate it man I just have the money for 5 they made 7.1?
Thanks

Hello,

Let me respond to your questions.

1.  Yes, you can use 7.1-channel A/V receivers with five-channel systems.

2.  Although this particular feature set will not be of help to you with the Definitive Mythos ST or Mythos 10 center channel (because they do support bi-wiring or bi-amplification), I thought you might find it encouraging to know that many AVRs, the Pioneer SC-27 among them, offer a set-up option where you can apply what would otherwise be unused amplifier channels for purposes of bi-amplifying main channel speakers.

Best,

Chris Martens
