I am about to finalize my decision on a NAD T163/T973 combo for my new home theatre system (they are used demo's, that is how I can afford them:). Before I do though I would like any suggestions that I should check out. I am open to combo units also, I just know from reviews that seperates are the way to go and if I am going to do something I should do it right. I am just new to the whole stereophile population but I can say I have a new passion. (I just heard my first true Audiophile system the other day at my local Audio Store and was BLOWN AWAY)...but anyway
-How do the NAD seperates (T163/T973 ) compare to a comparable Outlaw Audio set?
-Are there any other brands I should look at?
-Should I save some money with a combo A/V unit and simply spend the extra $$ on better speakers? ( I am looking at the Paradigm Performance Series as my speaker system)
The NAD separates are a fine choice, as is the Paradigm speaker system. With separates, you have the option of upgrading one component down the line, as well as generally better performance than from a receiver.
